Volume/volume percentage (v/v percent) is a measure of the concentration of a substance in a solution. It is expressed as the ratio of the volume of the solute to the total volume of the solution multiplied by 100. Examples: Wine has a typical alcohol content (v/v percent) of 12 percent. This means that there is 12 mL of ethanol in every 100 mL of wine.
